Roma have approached free agent midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

The Frenchman is the latest name to be linked with Roma who are on the look-out for a strong midfielder.

As per De Rossi’s request, Roma want to add a midfielder who is good at making runs into the opponent’s penalty area and scoring goals.

29-year-old Rabiot seems to fit the bill.

According to La Repubblica, Roma have entered the mix of teams interested in the French free agent and approached the player.

Rabiot’s contract with Juventus recently expired and the player is now free to sign with any team he wants.

Milan are also interested.

The newspaper adds, however, that Rabiot’s salary could pose a problem for Roma; Rabiot earns over 7 million euros, whereas Roma have made it a point to considerably lower their wage bill this summer.

Nontheless, Roma are monitoring the situation and could soon contact the player’s entourage.
