Roma have turned their attention to Monza centreback Pablo Mari.

According to journalist Matteo Moretto of Relevo, the Giallorossi have added veteran defender Pablo Mari to their shopping list of potential January reinforcements.

The capital club are famously looking for an additional defender given Chris Smalling’s prolonged absence.

Mari – 30 years of age and fresh off an impressive season with Raffaele Palladino’s side – reportedly fits the bill for Roma’s ideal candidate.

Moretto claims Roma have made contact with Mari’s representatives and inquired about his availability.

Monza, however, do not intend to part ways with the Spaniard as they consider him a key player in Palladino’s squad. Mari’s contract with Monza is set to expire in 2025.
