Roma are no longer the only club seriously interested in Rennes right-back Lorenz Assignon.
The Frenchman is also being pursued by Aston Villa, reports Sky Sport.
Villa have reportedly entered the scene and launched talks with Assignon’s entourage.
However, the English club has not yet sent any offers to Rennes.
It will be crucial to understand what Assignon’s preference will be given Roma’s strong interest in him over the last few weeks.
The Giallorossi want an additional fullback for Daniele De Rossi’s squad and Assignon seems to be deemed a good fit.
