Roma may have identified their preferred option for Rick Karsdorp’s back-up in Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot.

Il Tempo reports that the Giallorossi are working to sign Dalot on loan in January.

The Portuguese international had already been linked with the capital club in the summer window.

Tiago Pinto and Jose Mourinho like his versatility as the player can cover the right and left-back position.

Moreover, Dalot is unhappy with his limited playing time at Old Trafford: only 6 appearances so far this season. The player is pushing for a January exit.

Pinto is hoping for United to lower their demands. Earlier in the summer, the Red Devils were asking for €2 million loan fee and an option to buy at €20 million. Pinto is hoping for United to lower their demands.

However, Dalot’s exit is linked with Kieran Trippier’s arrival at Old Trafford all the way from Atletico Madrid.

United are reportedly working to sign Trippier and will let Dalot go only if they are able to get Trippier in January.

In the meantime, Roma continue to monitor other names for the right-back position including Zeki Celik of Lille.
