Roma at work to unlock talks for Marcos Leonardo

Andy Mattioli

Roma are not quitting their pursuit of Brazilian attacker Marcos Leonardo.

The capital club are determined to unlock negotiations with Santos, allowing Leonardo to join Jose Mourinho’s team before the start of the new season.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, Rafaela Pimenta – who is personally involved as an intermediary in the negotiations – flew to Brazil this morning to help reignite talks with Santos management.

Negotiations have proven to be more difficult as Santos are currently facing relegation and several members of the board are to be replaced by the end of the year. Thus, Roma are dealing with several actors at once.

The hope is to find an agreement as soon as possible.
