RomaPress – Roma were in court today to have their appeal heard for the automatic 0-3 loss handed down to them by the FIGC’s Sporting Judge.
The Giallorossi were adjudged to have used an ineligible player in their 0-0 draw against Hellas Verona earlier this season after Roma’s General Secretary, Pantaleo Longo, mistakenly added midfielder Amadou Diawara (23) to the Under-22 section of the club’s official roster.
Today, Roma’s lawyer Antonio Conte, who has been representing the club for over 20 years, led the club’s arguments for the appeal, which began at 14.30 CET. CEO Guido Fienga was also present during the proceedings.
The Giallorossi’s primary argument will be that they were not afforded any sort of advantage by Diawara’s participation.
