Roma boss Paulo Fonseca rejected offer from China worth €5m per season

Paulo Fonseca’s strong run at Roma has garnered the Portuguese tactician attention from abroad.

Corriere dello Sport reports that the former Shakhtar Donetsk man, who joined the Giallorossi in the summer of 2019 from the Ukrainian side, rejected a recent offer from China that was worth €5 million (net) per season.

Reportedly, several agents and lawyers contacted Fonseca’s agent, Marco Abreu, in order to express their interest in his services and to forward the large wage offer.

The approaches, though, were met with a firm “no” as the Portuguese coach wasn’t even willing to listen to the proposal.

Fonseca’s deal with Roma expires this summer, which has led to recent speculation about his future in the Italian capital despite the excellent recent run of results the team has achieved.
