Roma CEO Guido Fienga spoke to Ansa this evening — less than an hour after his side’s appeal of the automatic 0-3 defeat that they were handed against Hellas Verona was rejected.
”With all due respect to the magistrates who made this decision and took a long time to debate it — I can’t help but express my bitterness,” said Fienga.
“It’s a sentence that I consider deeply unjust. An opportunity was lost to intervene and fix an obvious legislative error.”
“We did our best by filing an appeal of huge importance, which proposed a legal remedy that would have allowed a fair review of equity on this rule — a rule that does not distinguish an error from willful misconduct.”
“We’re analysing the possibility of further action as today it was decided that there wouldn’t be any revisions to this rule that we consider unfair and unjust.”
