RomaPress – Roma and Chelsea are still locked in negotiations surrounding a loan deal for striker Romelu Lukaku.
The two clubs made significant progress in the discussions for the Belgian after they reconvened this morning for another round of talks. Initially, the Blues requested €13 million in a loan fee and refused to contribute any portion of the striker’s wages for the season.
After hours of negotiations led by Tiago Pinto and vice president Ryan Friedkin, the Giallorossi negotiated the fee down to €6 million but there’s still work to be done related to Lukaku’s salary.
Pinto and Friedkin have been in contact with the player’s lawyer, Sebastien Ledure, and are waiting to understand if Lukaku will accept a small pay decrease so they can get the deal over the line.
