Roma are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Marcos Leonardo from Santos in January.
After initial reports claimed that a deal involving Leonardo to Roma collapsed as Santos refused to sell the player in the summer, the two clubs reignited negotiations ahead of the winter transfer window.
According to Filippo Biafora of Il Tempo, talks are progressing at a rapid pace with Roma aiming to lower Santos’ asking price.
Leonardo would thus make himself available to Jose Mourinho’s team after 1 January 2024.
Intermediaries are at work and the new rounds of talks are expected to go on for the next few days but an agreement is close.
