Roma closing in on Torino’s Armando Izzo

La Repubblica journalist Francesca Ferrazza has reported that Roma are closing in on the acquisition of Torino central defender Armando Izzo.

The 28 year-old has been eager to leave the Granata this summer in the hopes of joining a bigger side in Italy.

Izzo, who made 31 appearances last season, has been offered to several clubs throughout Italy, including Roma and Fiorentina. The Giallorossi initially tried to acquire Izzo last summer when former sporting director Gianluca Petrachi was appointed, however, Torino rejected all approaches for the player.

Finally, though, it appears that the Giallorossi are nearing the finish line for the signature of the Italian, who has the ability to play in a three or four man defence.
