Despite one match remaining in the 2017-2018 campaign, the transfer market of Roma is in full swing. As reported today by Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma are closing in on Porto defender Ivan Marcano, whose contract with the Portuguese side expires on 30 June of this year.
Reportedly, Giallorossi sporting director, Monchi, has met several times with the entourage of the player both in Italy and Portugal to try and convince the Spanish player, who would arrive for free. The offer presented to Marcano, who made 46 total appearances for Porto this season while scoring seven goals, is an important one and an answer is expected in the coming days. Other clubs are interested in the player, who has the ability to play both as a central defender and left back, however, optimism has filtered into Trigoria that the deal will close. Another reinforcement could be on the way for Roma after having wrapped up a deal for Ante Coric as Ivan Marcano is now a concrete target.
