Roma collect least points in 20 games since 2002/03

Andy Mattioli

Roma’s defeat with AC Milan in last night’s showdown at the San Siro sees them drop to ninth place in the league table.

Over recent weeks, the Giallorossi have failed to impress and Jose Mourinho’s position at the club is now reportedly at serious risk.

In fact, Roma’s first half of the season is one of the worst in the capital club’s recent history.

The crisis is certified by the numbers: Mourinho’s team is stuck on 29 points, never so few after the first 20 seasonal matches in Serie A since 2002-03. In that case the points were 27 and Fabio Capello was on the bench.

The defeat in Milan is the third consecutive away defeat after those against Bologna and Juventus: it hasn’t happened since September-October 2021, reports
