RomaPress – Less than one week since learning Gini Wijnaldum would be unavailable until the new year, Roma are closing in on the Dutchman’s replacement.
The Giallorossi are deep into discussions with Olympiakos surrounding a potential transfer deal for midfielder Mady Camara.
The Greek side were previously engaged in negotiations with Monza for Camara, however, the capital club entered into the fold early yesterday, pulling ahead of the Silvio Berlusconi’s club in the race for the midfielder’s signature.
It’s hardly a surprising development given Camara, 25, is represented by the football agency CAA Base Soccer. Two of the companies most prominent figures, Paolo Busardò and Frank Trimboli, have an extremely strong relationship with Roma general Tiago Pinto.
Although the deal hasn’t been finalised, Roma are relatively confident they can close the operation quickly after Olympiakos already agreed to allow the player to leave.
