Roma are working on the return of Chris Smalling from Manchester United.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that within the last few hours, the Giallorossi have reopened talks to try and land the defender on a permanent deal from the Red Devils following his loan spell with the club last season.
Roma are confident that they will be able to reacquire the Englishman, who has already given his approval to rejoining the Italian side on a permanent basis.
The Giallorossi want to close the deal quickly after manager Paulo Fonseca expressed his desire in bringing Smalling back to the Italian capital — a three-year contract is waiting for the 30 year-old, who is closing in on a return to Italy.
