Roma are reportedly closing in on a January move for Santos attacker Marcos Leonardo.

In all likelihood, Leonardo will join the Giallorossi on a permanent deal in the winter transfer window after talks over a summer move broke down in July.

According to calciomercato.com, Leonardo is set to complete his highly-anticipated transfer to Roma on the basis of a fixed fee worth €13 million.

The same news portal reports that – given the multiple options Roma hold in the attack – the capital club are considering loaning out Leonardo upon his arrival to another Serie A team for the remainder of the season.

For now, the more concrete destinations for Leonardo are Empoli and Sassuolo.
