Roma owners Dan and Ryan Friedkin are moving forward in their reconstruction of the club’s hierarchy as they continue to search for names who can be appointed to the vacant Sporting Director and General Director roles.

Corriere dello Sport has reported today that a new candidate has emerged recently in the form of UEFA’s Michele Uva for the General Director position. The 55 year-old, Basilicata born executive is currently UEFA’s Vice President and has served as a UEFA Exco member since May 2017.

Uva has vast experience in Italy after having previously served in various directorial roles at Parma, Lazio, the Italian FA (FIGC), and the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI).

Friedkin wants to appoint a General Director that has strong international and football ties and one who also speaks English — all of which are boxes that Uva checks.
