Roma are still locked in negotiations for Alexander Sorloth of Villareal.

The Norwegian striker is Roma’s current priority to replace Romelu Lukaku who has returned to Chelsea earlier in the month following the expiry of his loan deal.

According to Il Messaggero, Sorloth is a personal favorite of Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi who launched talks with the player’s entourage and Villareal.

While Ghisolfi has already an agreement in place with Sorloth and his agents, the French executive is now in talks with Villareal who continue to ask for a higher fee than Roma are ready to spend at this moment in time.

The idea is to build an offer similar to the one delivered to Rennes for Enzo Le Fee, writes the newspaper, lowering the cash part but raising the bonuses involved which would be paid at a later time.
