Roma continuing talks for Milik: Napoli lower asking price to €25m

Il Tempo (Biafora) – Small steps forward have been made in a negotiation that began several weeks ago.

In the last few days, Roma and Napoli have reignited contacts for striker Arkadiusz Milik, the only player being negotiated between the clubs as Cengiz Ünder is no longer on the Partenopei’s radar and Veretout’s €40 million price tag has ended all discussion.

Relations between Napoli and the Polish striker are broken after he wa excluded for their two upcoming friendlies. Milik realises that Juventus is no longer an option and he has appreciated the movement of Roma, who have offered him a contract worth €4.5 million (net) plus bonuses per season.

The intermediaries appointed by Roma CEO Guido Fienga to complete the transaction are having close contacts with Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, who lowered his asking price for Milik to €25 million plus €3 bonuses.

To break the deadlock, however, Juve would need to clarify their position on the striker role: without Dzeko’s departure, Milik will not be able to join Roma.
