Roma are reportedly open to the possibility of Chris Smalling departing the club in January.

The English defender has been largely unavailable this season as a result of a persisting chronic injury in his knee.

Roma’s attempts to reintegrate him with the rest of the team in group training backfired and the centreback’s condition eventually worsened.

The capital club have no clear timeline for Smalling’s recovery.

Thus, Leggo reports that the Giallorossi are increasingly leaning toward including Smalling on January’s transfer list, hoping to draw some offers that could then prompt the club to invest in a valid replacement.
