Roma could sacrifice Pellegrini for Defrel

Calciomercato.com: Roma are ready to configure their transfer market for January and they will focus on finding a reinforcement in attack that can substitute Mohammed Salah and give an alternative to Edin Dzeko. An attacker that possibly already knows Italian football and can avoid being a flop like Seydou Doumbia. For this, the number one goal of the sporting director Ricky Massara is striker Sassuolo Grégoire Defrel.

Roma is pushing the accelerator to try and rip Defrel from Sassuolo. Defrel is carrying the attack of Eusebio Di Francesco and he is weary of losing the player. Sassuolo are waiting for the injured Berardi and Politano, who will return in January and their recoveries could potentially help Roma in negotiations.

Meanwhile, the Giallorossi are thinking of “sacrificing” the rights to Lorenzo Pellegrini, who is owned by Sassuolo but Roma have an option to repurchase him for €10 million. In fact, Roma is considering officially renouncing the repurchase option on Pellegrini in order to negotiate for Defrel. By doing this, Sassuolo would be free to listen to offers for Pellegrini should they decide to sell him.
