Roma courting Ausilio, who could leave Inter, for sporting director role

Following their defeat in yesterday’s Europa League final, sweeping changes could be arriving at Inter as sporting director Piero Ausilio, who is being courted by Roma, and manager Antonio Conte could depart the club, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Reportedly, new Roma owner Dan Friedkin is eyeing Ausilio for the team’s vacant sporting director role, which was vacated by Gianluca Petrachi in June.

Ausilio is currently making his assessments on his future with the Nerazzurri, with whom he has a contract until June 2022.

The 48 year-old has been with Inter for 15 years, but could opt for a new adventure in the coming days.

There will be a decisive meeting between Conte and Inter’s hierarchy on Tuesday, which is when it’s likely to be revealed what level of change is expected at the club.
