Former Roma goal-keeper Morgan De Sanctis, now assistant director to General Manager Tiago Pinto, was recently interviewed during the Trofeo Maestrelli event. The director spoke about the club’s ownership and ambitions.
“I approach my role with a lot of dignity. I work alongside Tiago Pinto.”
“The club is changing and we are trying to start a new path in order to be ambitious every time we step on the pitch.”
“Roma is an important club that hasn’t raised a trophy for a long time, but you have to get there with a hard-earned path, with clarity and openness towards the fans.”
“Small hiccups or turbulences will not distract us from our project. We must expect continuous progress, without falling into the trap of hysterics or disappointments. We are confident.”
“The shameful loss at Bodo must be dismissed as an accident that must never be repeated. We want to be protagonists, but we have to earn this role on the pitch.”
De Sanctis concluded:
“We did not expect the team to have a clear identity at the start of the season. The results will be definitive at the end of the campaign. That’s when it will be possible to draw a clearer judgement.”
