Roma got back to winning ways this afternoon thanks to a resounding 5-1 victory over Bologna at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara. The Giallorossi grabbed a quick lead to begin the match and found themselves with a 3-0 lead in less than 15 minutes.
Edin Dzeko, who had a goal and an assist to his name, lauded his side’s effectiveness against SiniÅ¡a Mihajlović’s men.
“We played great and had a quality performance, especially in the first half,” the Bosnian admitted during a post-match interview with Sky Sport.
The former Manchester City man’s goal saw him draw level with Amedeo Amadei for third on Roma’s all-time scoring list with 111 goals.
“I should’ve been on 113 today! I scored a goal and that makes me happy, but I’m especially pleased with the team’s performance today. It’s always difficult to play here. I missed a couple of chances but I’m starting to feel better after my battle with COVID.”
He continued, “Our goal is to finish in the top four. It’s not going to be easy, we know that, but we haven’t qualified for the Champions League in two years and that’s a huge disappointment for this club. The players and these supporters deserve it.”
“We’ll take things one match a time. After today, we’ll forget about this game and focus on Torino.”
