Roma are insistent on the renewal of English defender Chris Smalling who is edging closer to free agency.
The veteran centreback has yet to respond to Roma’s latest bid which La Gazzetta dello Sport claims is now double of what the initial offer looked like.
According to the newspaper, the Giallorossi have offered Smalling up to €3.5 million plus bonuses for a new long-term deal until 2025.
Growing impatient, the capital club are prepared to wait for the player’s response until the end of April.
