Roma draw Milan in Europa League quarterfinals

John Solano

Roma have been paired against a familiar face in the quarterfinals of the Europa League.

Just one day after ousting Brighton from the competition, the Giallorossi drew Milan in the next round of the competition—the first leg scheduled for April 11th at San Siro with the return leg one week later on the 18th.

Roma will hope “third time’s a charm” for the double-encounter given they’ve dropped both league fixtures against the Rossoneri this season. However, both defeats occurred prior to Daniele De Rossi’s appointment.

The winner will advance to face either West Ham or German leaders Bayer Leverkusen in the semifinals, which are scheduled for 2 May and 9 May. On the other side of the bracket, fellow Italian side Atalanta were paired against Liverpool while Benfica drew Marseille.

The Europa League final will take place on Wednesday, 22 May at Dublin Arena in Ireland.
