Roma seem to have encountered a first major obstacle in their new stadium project.
As the club continue to work to obtain the final approval for the designated area of construction, a new issue has emerged in recent days.
According to Il Tempo, the General Hospital Umberto I have sent a letter to the Municipality of Rome and the Councilor for Urban Planning claiming that the Pietralata area – which Roma have selected to build the stadium – had been identified as the location for the hospital’s new establishment.
The rumored project dates back to the early 1960s and was never realized. The original plan was to move the General Hospital to the city’s outskirts and away from the busy city center.
The issue is now expected to be addressed by the local authorities.
