Roma’s Chief Global Sporting Officer, Manolo Zubiria, appeared on DAZN before the start of this evening’s match against Udinese at the Stadio Friuli.
The Giallorossi executive was asked about the transfer market and the club’s most recent purchase, Borja Mayoral, as well as Roma’s pursuit of defender Chris Smalling.
“Mayoral? We’re happy to have him with us, he had the chance to stay at Real Madrid but he wanted to come here,” he revealed.
”Smalling? Roma did everything possible to try and do a sustainable operation for the club. Is there hope that he still arrive? We have done everything possible to do a sustainable transfer — plus, the transfer market closes on Monday.”
