Roma executive Morgan De Sanctis involved in auto accident, undergoes surgery

Roma executive Morgan De Sanctis was involved in a serious auto accident late yesterday in the Italian capital.

The 43 year-old’s vehicle overturned while he was driving on via Cristoforo Colombo near the EUR district of Rome and was rushed to the hospital.

According to Il Messaggero and Sky Sport, De Sanctis was initially taken to Villa Stuart but was later transported to Gemelli Hospital to undergo emergency surgery.

Reportedly, the former goalkeeper suffered broken ribs and had his spleen removed after a hemorrhage was revealed in his abdomen. While his condition was initially ruled as serious, he is expected to make a full recovery.
