Roma eye Belotti, Musso as summer reinforcements

RomaPress Staff

Tiago Pinto, Roma’s General Director, recently completed his first transfer market with the Giallorossi after joining the club from Benfica. The 36 year-old acquired attacker Stephan El Shaarawy and defender Bryan Reynolds in January, but he already has his eyes towards the summer and is looking to revolutionise Paulo Fonseca’s side.

Corriere dello Sport reports that Pinto’s two objectives for this summer are to find a new goalkeeper and center forward for Roma as the club will look to move on from Pau Lopez and Edin Dzeko. The Spaniard has been woefully underwhelming since he joined from Real Betis while Dzeko’s recent clash with Paulo Fonseca seemingly sealed his fate.

Once the season completes, Lopez’s value on Roma’s books will be €15 million — making the possibility of a move away on loan with obligation to buy increasingly achievable.

For potential replacements, Pinto has already evaluated multiple profiles, but his favorite is Udinese shot-stopper Juan Musso. The Argentine has several admirers throughout Europe and will not be cheap, so a deal could be complicated. Atalanta’s Pierluigi Gollini and Verona’s Marco Silvestri are two other options that he also admires.

In attack, Torino’s Andrea Belotti is the attacker who most fascinates the Giallorossi while Fiorentina’s DuÅ¡an Vlahović is also well-liked.
