Roma eye El Shaarawy as first January reinforcement

After having come just steps away from rejoining Roma last month before the close of the transfer window, attacker Stephan El Shaarawy could be the first name to arrive in January.

The Giallorossi, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, want to bring El Shaarawy back to the club in January as manager Paulo Fonseca views him as the right profile to reinforce his side.

El Shaarawy has been training in the Italian capital since September after having come to an agreement with his parent club, Shanghai Shenhua.

Roma, though, must find a new agreement with the Chinese side before wrapping up a deal for El Shaarawy, who is desperate to rejoin Roma.
