Roma are eager to bring in a new central defender to give to manager Paulo Fonseca.
The Portuguese boss has been very outspoken about his need for another defender as the club’s negotiations for Manchester United’s Chris Smalling, the number one priority for Fonseca, have stalled.
As an alternative to the Englishman, Turkish outlet Fanatik reports that the Giallorossi are closing in on a move for Galatasaray’s Brazilian central defender Marcão.
According to their report, the Giallorossi have offered €15 million plus a 10% sell-on fee for the 24 year-old. The offer has satisfied the Turkish side’s asking price, but the final decision come down to manager Fatih Terim.
