Roma eye Merih Demiral in defence, Juventus asking €40m

Roma are looking to reinforce each department this summer for manager José Mourinho.

One of those roles includes central defender, which is an area of the pitch where the club struggled heavily last season. And according to Gianluca Di Marzio, one of the players that Roma like for the part is Juve’s Merih Demiral.

His agents met with the Bianconeri today to discuss his situation. The Turkish international could be on his way out of Turin following a difficult 2020/2021 campaign.

He appeared in only twenty-four matches and the Bianconeri appear willing to part with him if a good offer arrives.

Juventus have slapped a €40 million price tag on Demiral, and are unwilling to accept players in return — seeking only cash.
