Roma eye Veretout renewal

Roma declined all of the approaches that Napoli made this summer for Jordan Veretout, who has become one of the most important pieces for Paulo Fonseca, and now the Giallorossi want to tie the Frenchman down with a contract renewal.

Veretout joined Roma just over 12 months ago and signed a contract that runs until 2024 — since then, he has established himself as one of the best box to box midfielders in all of Italy.

The former Fiorentina man is the currently the fifth highest paid player at Roma, earning €3 million (net) per season.

Corriere della Sera reports that the Giallorossi want to hand Veretout an improved wage and extend his contract with the club until 2025. The club is expected to extend the offer soon in the hopes of keeping Veretout in the Italian capital for the long-term.
