Roma eyeing Fonseca alternatives, Spalletti 3.0 a possibility

Despite the backing of club president James Pallotta via Twitter, Roma are, reportedly, eyeing alternatives to manager Paulo Fonseca, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

The Giallorossi have lost three consecutive matches and are in a free fall since play resumed last month. Fonseca, who arrived at the club last summer, has 8 matches left in the Serie A campaign to confirm his place on the bench for next season.

Highly influential Roma adviser Franco Baldini has already started to eye alternatives to the Portuguese manager and one of the first names on his list is former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino. Another name Baldini is considering is an extremely familiar one: Luciano Spalletti.

The Tuscan left the Giallorossi following the 2016/2017 campaign and a third stint at the club cannot be ruled out for the 61 year-old, who’s is extremely close to Baldini.
