Roma are reportedly preparing their summer transfer plans with careful consideration for the goalkeeper position.
In fact, with Mile Svilar’s steady rise as the team’s first choice in goal, Roma seem increasingly more intent on simply securing a back-up option in the summer.
Given Rui Patricio’s imminent departure as a free agent, the Giallorossi are said to be looking for a low-cost replacement that would act as Svilar’s back-up.
Today’s report by TuttoMercatoWeb suggests Pierluigi Gollini – currently on loan at Napoli from Atalanta – is one of the more tempting profiles that Roma have looked at over recent weeks.
Gollini is unlikely to stay at Napoli beyond this season – his option of €7 million is unlikely to be picked up by the Partenopei.
Meanwhile, Roma are intrigued by this prospect – Gollini has good ties with several Roma players with whom he played for Italy’s U21 and his technical abilities would help him slot in in no time.
