The coming months will entail lots of work for Roma General Manager Tiago Pinto who – beside having to settle the situation around Rick Karsdorp and continuing negotiations for Zaniolo’s renewal – will have to deal with several expiring contracts.
As reported by Sky Sport, the Giallorossi’s long list of players with June 2023 as their contractual expiry date includes Stephan El Shaarawy, Nemanja Matic, Chris Smalling, Andrea Belotti, and Gini Wijnaldum and Mady Camara – the latter two are on loan.
Matic and Belotti both have options in their current contracts to have them extended upon the fulfillment of certain performance-related criteria such as number of appearances.
Meanwhile, El Shaarawy and Smalling will have to find a common ground with Roma’s management if they want to continue playing for the club beyond this season.
