Roma have encountered a delay today in the construction of the Stadio della Roma.
The Conference of Services, a council which oversees the release of work permits for public works, has denied Roma’s motion to give the club more time to update the stadium. Given the sweeping changes that were made at last week’s approval with Rome mayor Virginia Raggi, the club asked the board for more time after having already been granted a 30 day delay. However, the board has denied this motion and will decide on 5 April if they will accept or reject the current plans they have available.
Now, the club will have to start over and re-submit their updated project to the board so they can approve. No construction can begin until Conference of Services (CDS) approves the project. It’s unknown as to how long this delay will be, but there is a risk it could be up to four months.
