Roma’s track record in their recent series of Derby Della Capitale appearances is poor, to say the least.
The capital club have been on an extremely disappointing streak of results when facing their city rivals Lazio.
Once again, last night’s defeat saw Roma fail to create any meaningful chances, only getting their first shot on goal late in the second half.
Lazio did not feel threatened at all and easily slipped by making the best of the penalty that had been awarded in their favor.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, this was the fourth consecutive derby in which Roma failed to score a single goal.
It hadn’t happened since the period between 1995 and 1996, between the managements of Carlo Mazzone and Carlos Bianchi.
The lack of goals is nothing new: the Giallorossi have won just 2 of the last 11 derbies (with 3 draws and 6 defeats), without scoring on six occasions.
