Lorenzo Pellegrini has not yet renewed his contract with Roma. Officially, the number 7 is a free agent, and several clubs are trying to negotiate with the attacking midfielder.
The player’s priority is to remain with the Giallorossi. The club is continuing to discuss the matter with the player to reach an agreement.
There’s currently a gap between supply and demand, but that’s not the only reason the player hasn’t signed yet.
The 1996-born player is still recovering from the injury he suffered in the final part of last season, and therefore, he wouldn’t be available to Gian Piero Gasperini in any case.
Yesterday, Gasp held a press conference where he addressed several issues, including Pellegrini’s contract renewal. The coach was clear: “I want him to renew. I hope he can recover from his injury soon and then reach an agreement with the club.”
The Curva echoed the coach’s words. While the players were taking part in their first test of the season at Trigoria, a banner appeared addressed to the Friedkins: “Making a mistake can happen… Repeating it is approximating! Let’s hold on to Lorenzo!” Barring any surprises, then, the number 7 will remain a player of the Roman team.
