After bidding farewell to Qatar Airways, Roma’s new owners, Dan and Ryan Friedkin, are closing in on an agreement with the club’s new shirt sponsor.

Alessandro Austini of Il Tempo reports that the Giallorossi are finalising a contract that will see open source blockchain platform, DigitalBits, become the club’s new primary sponsor.

The multi-year deal is expected to be wrapped-up in the coming hours and marks the first significant sponsorship deal secured by Roma’s parent company, The Friedkin Group, who became the club’s new owners eleven months ago.

DigitalBits will replace Qatar Airways—whose contract with Roma expired last month. The aviation giant was unable to reach an agreement with Roma to renew the three-year deal the parties initially signed in 2018.
