It’s just a few days before Roma’s league campaign resumes against Sampdoria, however, the Giallorossi seem to be generating more news for matters off of the pitch than on it.
Yesterday, defender Juan Jesus responded to a post published by Roma’s official Instragram account stating that the club must have trust in him given he wasn’t pictured in their “countdown until the season resumes” post.
The sarcastic comment by the Brazilian led to attacks from several Giallorossi supporters, who told the defender that he should leave Roma given that he hardly ever plays coupled with the fact he earns large wages. They also pointed out his departure could slightly help Roma’s financial situation.
Juan Jesus responded to the comments by stating, “You really think my four quid would fix the club’s budget? Did you skip math lessons”?
In response, Corriere dello Sport reports that the club has fined the Brazilian an undisclosed amount and that he may not be called up for the match against Sampdoria later this week.
