Roma, Florenzi want permanent transfer: Valencia weary of transfer fee, wages

Roma captain Alessandro Florenzi could say goodbye to the Giallorossi in the coming days as Valencia remain very interested in his services.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Alessandro Lucci, Florenzi’s agent, met with Roma sporting director Gianluca Petrachi this afternoon and both sides stated their interest in seeking a permanent transfer for the 28 year-old.

There are still some obstacles for a transfer to the Spanish side, though, for Florenzi. First, the player wants the move to be permanent and doesn’t want an obligation to buy inserted into the deal that is linked to appearances or Champions League qualification, which is something Valencia would prefer.

Next, there is also the issue of wages and the contract. With his current earnings, Florenzi would be the highest earner at Valencia. Furthermore, the contract is also an issue given the limited time left in the transfer window. There are significant complications to agreements made by Spanish clubs, as evidenced by an 18-page document outlining the various clauses in the deal.

The parties are continuing to work as Alessandro Florenzi is ready for a new adventure.
