Roma, Fonseca have a complete agreement: Shakhtar don’t want him to leave for free

John Solano

Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Roma and Shakhtar Donetsk manager Paulo Fonseca have reached a complete agreement for the Portuguese man to become the new manager of the Giallorossi. The last hurdle, though, remains the buyout clause present in Fonseca’s contract, which is worth €5 million. Despite the gentleman’s agreement the club and Fonseca’s entourage had for him to leave the club for free, the Ukrainian side, for now, to not intend to respect this arrangement. Shakhtar have informed Fonseca’s agents via phone and email that they will not allow him to depart the club for free, however, they will grant a discount on the buyout clause and lower it to €3 million.
