RomaPress – It’s the first step in a process that will take at least two months or more, but it will be one that makes it a certainty: Dan Friedkin will become the new owner of AS Roma.
A legal executive at The Friedkin Group has confirmed exclusively to RomaPress that the signatures on the preliminary contracts for the American to takeover the club will take place on Friday.
“The preliminary contracts will be signed on Friday and we will officially begin the closing process”, he said.
Closing the acquisition of the Giallorossi will take at minimum 60 days but could stretch even further. It took James Pallotta almost six months to close on Roma when he acquired the club in 2011, though, it’s not expected to take this long again.
From transferring the nearly dozen companies that make-up AS Roma into the name of The Friedkin Group to having to deal with the various laws related to the Giallorossi being publicly traded (such as the Antitrust laws and the announcement of a Board of Directors), there is still plenty of work to do.
However, Friday will mark the day that it no longer is a rumor: Dan Friedkin will takeover AS Roma.
