Roma did not take too kindly Claudio Lotito’s recent remarks about their financial situation.
The Italian senator and Lazio President was recently heard saying at the Forza Italia congress in Rome that “Roma should have already been bankrupt a long time ago.”
According to Il Tempo, Roma immediately took issue with this statement and held a heated confrontation with Lazio with Dan and Ryan Friedkin personally involved in this exchange.
The newspaper claims Roma demanded of Lazio to release an official statement to distance themselves from the words of their President.
However, this request was denied as Lazio do not consider the context within which these words were spoken since it was a political and social function that Lotito was attending as senator rather than chairman of the club.
