Roma General Manager Tiago Pinto was asked about the club’s January transfer business prior to last night’s match with Atalanta.
In an interview with DAZN, Pinto – who recently announced his departure from Roma in February – outlined the club’s transfer strategy and touched upon Paulo Dybala’s much talked about release clause.
“Any signing we make must respect the limitations concerning our lists and the economic constraints we operate with. Now the market will tell what will happen. Through our own creativity we have always managed to do what is best for the team.”
“There are still many days to go until the transfer deadline. I know I have accustomed you to always fast negotiations but there is still some time left.”
“My anticipated farewell? We have always done this for big decisions. As with Mourinho’s announcement. Even if you’re not used to it, this is how we work in Italy. It’s a decision that’s been made for some time but nothing changes. We are still working 100%.”
“Dybala’s release clause? He will continue to play here and score for us. I don’t think it’s going to be a problem. The release clause exists, but he stays here. Obviously anything can happen but we can remain calm.”
