Roma goalkeeper Rui Patricio recorded his league-leading 13th clean sheet of the season yesterday evening after the capital club beat Sampdoria 1-0.

The Portuguese international registered another vital performance against Marco Giampaolo’s side, making three critical saves, two of which were from inside the penalty area.

The veteran’s performance against the Ligurians drew praise from Roma goalkeeper coach Nuno Santos. On his Instagram page, the 48 year-old hailed Patricio as the “best Portuguese goalkeeper” following his superb performance against the Ligurians at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Roma’s win over Samp marked their fourth clean sheet in their previous five league matches. The victory also handed the Giallorossi a boost in their quest for a top-four finish after both Atalanta and Juventus were defeated.
