There is growing optimism for the renewal of Roma defender Chris Smalling whose current contract expires in June.
As reported in today’s edition of Il Tempo, General Manager Tiago Pinto has held frequent talks with Smalling’s agent in recent weeks.
The two parties are nearing an agreement for another long-term deal with Smalling set to earn a little less than the current wages he presently makes (around €4 million with bonuses included).
Smalling is yet to give his final approval, but signs point to the Englishman continuing his journey with the Giallorossi.
