The Region of Lazio released a seven-page report late yesterday and handed Roma an important boost for their stadium project, the Stadio della Roma.
The region published a clarification in relation to the public transportation question linked to the project. Architect Manuela Manetti, the President of the Conferenza di Servizi and Head of the Regional Directorate for Territory, Urban Planning, Mobility and Waste, affirmed that it will be the responsibility of the Municipality to solve any transportation problems related to the Roma-Lido railway should its updates not be completed before the inauguration of the new stadium. Adapting the railway to route to the new stadium was a provision closely linked to the project: Roma were worried that should there be delays, the stadium’s opening would be pushed back even further until completion.
Though it seems like a small detail, this update allows Roma to move forward with the project, which is entering its seventh year of planning.
